The Leighton Elementary Pre-K students got to celebrate Easter a little bit early when Colbert County High School hosted an Annual Easter Egg Hunt on the football field. The high school invited the students to enjoy the festivities provided by FCCLA and FFA, two student organizations who supplied the eggs and helped with crowd control. There were so many eggs for the Pre-K students, the football field looked like one giant Easter egg. It’s safe to say that all students went home over-loaded with Easter eggs filled with goodies.

According to Leighton Elementary Pre-K teacher, Rolanda Johnson, “Once we let the students loose, they cleared the field in about three seconds flat.”  However, the hunt for eggs wasn’t the only thing Easter themed this year. Students also had the opportunity to get a picture made with the Easter Bunny and Chief Colbert., thanks to Adrianna Bailey and Logan Wisdom, who played the roles fabulously. All in all, the students had a great time and the Easter festivities were a huge success.
