Kids are my passion and art is the vehicle in which I choose to influence them positively. I earned a B.S. in Art Education from The University of North Alabama and a M.A. in Art Education from Boston University. I have taught at Colbert Heights for 10 years and after those 10 years, I can not imagine teaching anywhere else. I am always looking for new ways to teach my subject and make my students lives more meaningful. In recent years, we have received grants from the Alabama State Arts Council, Colbert County Education Foundation, Kennedy-Douglass Center for the Arts, and the Colbert County Commission. We are continually seeking grants to expand our art program and give our students more opportunities in the arts. These grants have allowed us to purchase equipment and technology to include Media Arts and Digital Photography in our visual arts curriculum. This opportunity is going to elevate our art program and give our students new and more relevant creative opportunities. I look forward to many more years of adventure at Colbert Heights High!
