I graduated high school in 1996 from Cherokee High School with an Advanced Diploma ranking fifth in my graduating class. After graduating high school, I attended Northwest-Shoals Community College completing all of my basic courses. Transferring to the University of North Alabama, I entered the school of elementary education and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education in 2001. In 2004, I graduated with a Master of Arts Degree in Elementary Education from the University of North Alabama. While working on my college coursework, I volunteered in my spare time in the classroms of two of the best educators that I have ever known: Mrs. Betty Carter and Mrs. Pam Worsham. They both gave me invaluable advice and experience that I could not have gained without the opportunity to work under their guidance.
When I am not at school, I enjoy reading, spending my summer vacation at the beach with my family, and spending as much time as I can with my niece Abbie, who is a seventh grader at Muscle Shoals Middle School; my cousins Sarah Beth and her husband Billy who live in Hoover, Alabama; Blake, who works as a conductor for Norfolk Southern Railway; and Samantha, who is a senior at the University of North Alabama pursuing a degree in elementary education.
